Canon s90 Review
I am not going to go into detail in describing features, functions, showing you test shots and blah blah blah. I will save that for all those geeky photo websites out there.
What I will say is that I shoot my point and shoot cameras constantly, whether it's for my Drive By Shooting Series, Editorial, or Advertising and Catalog shoots.
Point and shoot cameras are a really important part of my life and have been for the past 20 years.
I like this camera.
I haven't gone too deep with it as I just got it today. Took some test shots around the office, but I will say that right now, I am comfortable scrolling the ISO up to 400 and probably will shoot it at 800, even for print work.
Couple that with a 2.0 aperture and the IS that allows me to handhold around 1/15 if I am not too drunk and I think we have a winner.
Did I mention it's half the size of the G11?
It will actually fit in your shirt pocket, if you are the kind of douche that wears shirts with pockets.
In comparison to the G Series, I will gladly give up an external ISO dial and a bit of zoom, to have this compact beauty with the same Sensor and Image Processor and a 2.0 lens. The flash doesn't seem to perform as well as a G series, but with a 2.0 and 800 ISO who needs much flash anyway?
This thing blows doors on the G10 and G9 for overall image quality. It's about time someone stopped worrying about megapixels and went for image quality in a point and shoot.
No HD video is a total bummer, other than that, I dig this thing and it sure does seem like it's going to replace the G Series in my pocket at all times.
