Full Moon Shred

I did something I have never done before in my life a couple weeks ago in the Kootenay Mountains of British Columbia. I went full moon shredding. With all the time I spend in the mountains, I have never taken backcountry runs under a full moon. I even surfed Trestles last summer on a perfect overhead swell with a full moon (and there were 30 other guys out!), but I have never done the night time powder run mission.
It was epic, dropping into a huge bowl under the full moon and riding 2500 vertical feet to the valley floor was really special. It was a full on mission, 15 mile snowmobile ride in at 2am in the morning and then shuttling everyone to the top was a process, but the experience was unforgettable. Temps were in the minus 25 range, so it was cold and the moonlight was shimmering off the powder.
Nothing beats the feeling of ripping a big face of blower Kootenay Powder in the middle of night with your best bros under a full moon.
This pic was taken right before our first run, it's funny how happy everyone looks. Click on the pic to enlarge.
