Drive By Shooting: Washington DC, Christmas 2009

It's Christmas Afternoon, so in between lots of cookies and lots of Turkey and Ham, I took a drive and took some shots of the beautiful White Christmas we had here in DC.
I used to snowboard down this hill on a Burton Backhill in 1984
The one statue is crying on the other statue's shoulder because the health care reform bill was passed yesterday morning within these walls.
Security Issue Number One: Protecting the National Menorah.

When I was a kid, there was a pretty good chance of getting car jacked or robbed around this area in the evening, now there is a Whole Foods.
Neither rain, nor snow, nor dark of night can stop a hipster in tight jeans on Christmas day riding his fixed gear through Adams Morgan.
I attempted to locate the Prime Minister of Malaysia but he wasn't here. My mission continues...
Obama's crib.
2 blocks from Obama's crib, someone else's crib.
Life size replica of my dong.
Jefferson Memorial.
The world's largest office building. It's built in the shape of a pentagon.
The first spaceship landing area ever constructed by the U.S. Government.

Drive By Shooting, Cairns, Australia Part 2

If you were a guy in North America playing this sport you would be considered a wanker, but in OZ, it's all good.

Check out that new high speed internet satellite dish, I am getting one installed at my office.
Everyone is always welcome at church, they need some cash too!

This guy would kick your freakin ass! You ever seen that movie Wolf Creek? Go watch it, based on a true story from the Outback.
I couldn't have asked for a better place for someone to ditch their couch. Made for a great photo, thank you.

Woolworths is like Wal-Mart of Australia.
Guess what this sign copied?

Drive By Shooting: Cairns, Australia Part 1

Typical 'Queenslander' home, built high to keep out water, crocs and all the snakes.
This was lucky that he saw me taking the pic and waved.
Why don't we have sick cars like this in the US?

They have some serious trucks in the Far North Queensland. These mates don't mess around.

This guy in the neckbrace has a cigarette in his hand. I probably would too.

The industry Cairns was built on: Sugar Cane.
Worked for me.

Drive By Shooting: Sumba, Part 1

My latest update from my Drive By Shooting Series: Sumba, Indonesia.
In case you are new to my Drive By Shooting Series, all the photos are taken from the vehicle while it's moving. I often times just shoot right through the glass, so you will see some of the reflections on occasion.
This Drive By Series was taken on the way from the Airport in Sumba to where we were staying. Sumba is an interesting island in the Indonesian chain. Although it's twice the size of Bali, I think we were in the only hotel on the entire island, compared to probably a thousand on Bali. A serious malaria problem, lack of infrastructure and overall rough conditions keep most tourists away. I was there for 2 weeks and never saw another tourist. I was fortunate enough to get invited along on a trip to check out some off the grid surf spots and local culture. These photos were just the beginning.
